Do you remember that feeling? Back in primary school, nice colors? With the tip of your tongue out of the mouth and choosing a color over and over again. Then you mainly had to stay within the lines.
That is not necessary with us!
We do not work with ordinary colored pencils during this workshop. You will be introduced to Derwent's Inktense pencils and blocks. Together we investigate all the possibilities that Inktense pencils and blocks offer on both fabric and paper, so that you can apply this later in your own projects.
This workshop is a must for anyone who already has the pencils in the cupboard but does not know exactly how they work and for people who are thinking about buying them.
Inktense is available in pencil or block form on a pigment base and can be used on both fabric and paper, giving a transparent ink-like effect in vibrant colors. The colors intensify with water or medium and once dry, the color is permanent and can be worked with other materials without affecting the underlying layer.
We start at 10:00 am. The door is open from 09.45 am. When you enter there is coffee and tea. You are looking for a workplace and put on your apron (bring your own). I will start by telling you something about the product. What is it actually.
As a first exercise, we use a painting technique in which we work dry and wet. What is also discussed: fixing, rubbing structures, what is the difference between working with water and a medium, drawing, nice colors and highlights.
At 4 p.m. we will stop with 'Nice Colors' and you will have notes and samples, to keep or edit further. You now know all the ins and outs of working with the versatile Inktense, so you can get started right away at home.
* 1.5 meters distance will be taken into account during the workshop. Fortunately, our classroom is large enough to be able to do this safely for everyone, but we do ask everyone to take their own responsibility, so if you (or anyone in your household) have a cold, we ask you to stay at home.
